The Out to Lunch Arts Festival is on at the minute and features an amazing array of eclectic performers, any of which are pretty much worth seeing. I want to choose one of the lunch shows they put on as my pick for this week. The shows are all £6 and include lunch, and after being to 2 of them this week I can tell you they were both delicious, entertaining and incredibly good value for money. My pick is "lost voice Guy" the first stand up comedian to use a communication aid. Lee Ridley was born with cerebal aplsey and thus left unable to speak, but that hasn't stopped him being heard or doing what he loves. He uses his iPad to produce a show that is unique, hilarious and shows us that as technology grows it helps enable all those in the world around us do things that before were thought impossible. Check out the video below for a taste of what his show is like. When: Wed 15 Jan 1PM Ho Ho HoSir Christopher J Caldwell. I enjoy wrestling, films and nautical adventure. I've just finished making a short film which you can see here. I also DJ sometimes . You'll see me out and about eating or drinking. Sometimes even both whilst walking. I have written for The Big List. I currently also write for BBC Across The Line.

What better way to round off Belfast Music Week than by seeing the very tippy top of the NI music pyramid all in one place, and what's better than 1 album launch on such a night? How about 2 Album launches! Mojo Fury launch their album 'The difference between' along side the Rupture Dogs who release their debut 'Feral'. The under card should have you rockin' along rightly too with Gascan Ruckus, Couth, A Northern Light and Dutch Schultz. In between all this will be Bee Mick See DJing his wee heart out. More info right here. When: Sat 16th November Who wrote this?Sir Christopher J Caldwell. I enjoy wrestling, films and nautical adventure. BBC ATL Review: The Magic Numbers BBC ATL Review: Rams' Pocket Radio, A Northern Light, Serotonin Norn Iron is going Halloween mad at the minute. Derry is seemingly the Halloween capital of the world but Belfast has a few tricks up it's sleeve! How about this one, a haunted house style attraction with people all dressed up jumping out and scaring the clean sh*t out of you while you walk around an (allegedly) haunted Victorian prison at night! I already have my tickets and an extra pair of trousers bought. Your worst nightmares will come true as you make your way through the dark and windy wings of this famous Victorian prison that is reputed to be one of the most haunted buildings in Belfast. Here you will come face-to-face with many characters that once roamed this notorious prison bringing their terrifying past back to life... Who Goes there?Christopher J Caldwell. Pick of the week this week is a recession busting 3 for 1. For the price of 1 roller derby bout you get 2 plus entry to the after party at the Hudson bar included in the price! First up the Norn Iron Maidens take on Limericks B team and then the beloved Belfast Banshees take on Limerick Roller Girls A Afterwards rock on round to the Hudson bar (Top floor) and Party in style, with free entry (when you show your ticket). There's not too much to say on this one, because it's a secret. As part of the East Belfast Arts festival and being run by Seedhead Arts we must say this looks very interesting! The venue’s a secret, the line up’s a secret. Tickets are £12 and there’s only 30 of them to see 4 of Belfast’s finest performers in an intimate and unusual venue Who wrote this?Chris Caldwell

Who: Gama Bomb, Mental Defiency, Zombified, Sentient Where: The Belfast Empire When: Saturday 17th Aug 2013 Damage: £12 It's Saturday night, you want to party, you want to thrash, but where to go? The Belfast Empire is where to go where NI's own Thrash Gods GAMA BOMB are playing a headlining act. Think speed metal with an insane amount of movie references thrown in. Supporting them are PB faves Mental Deficiency and you know those boys always put on a good show. IT's most probably the only night you hear 2 live bands do songs about Robocop so that alone should be worth the fee. Zombified and Sentient will be playing first as well, a full line up indeed. Beardy Jonny from Shizznigh promotions has even been kind enough to put up Stage times, so you can plan your night accordingly As if all this wasn't enough I shall also be spinning some tunes in-between - everything from Black Sabbath to Metallica. STAGE TIMES DOORS 8:30PM SENTIENT 9:15PM / 9:45PM Zombified 10PM / 10:30PM Mental Deficiency 10:45 / 11:30pm GAMA BOMB 11:45pm / 12:45am Who wrote this?Chris Caldwell

Where: Sunflower Bar When: Saturday 3rd Aug 2013 Damage: £5 WonderVilliansPartyRockShow!!!! So this is the insanely energetic and catchy Wonder Villians in the intimate and oddly wonderful bar with the cage on the front door and these 2 things make for an awesome night out. I love the Sunflower with it's fine selection of beers both local and foreign. A bit like the Hudson it's a bar trying to regenerate an area all on it's own, and making a bloody good job of it. The upstairs only holds 60 so it'll be hot, sweaty and piles of fun. All the details are above! Who picked this?Chris Caldwell

This week's Pick of the Week is something a little different. If you're bored tomorrow, or just lacking some inspiration for your Summer wardrobe, then head on down to Love & Death Inc. between 10am and 6.30pm to indulge in Lola's Vintage Kilo Sale. After the success of the last Vintage Kilo Sale, it's back once more and it's even better. Basically you just fill your boots (cowboy or otherwise) with unique vintage pieces and pay by the weight. According to the Facebook page, "Allowing you to buy by the weight means vintage fans can buy a kilo of clothes (that’s 4/5 pieces) for just £20." There will also be music from Ackright and a special cocktail deal on offer, so why not try something a little different this Saturday? You never know, you might get some bargains! Where: Love & Death Inc, Belfast When: Saturday 27th July 10.00 - 18.30 Damage: However much you want to spend, it's £20 for a kilo of clothes Who loves short shorts?Laura Caldwell
I'm 20 years old, studying Journalism with Photo-Imaging at the University of Ulster Coleraine Campus. I have an undying love for Belfast and all that it has to offer, an undying love for sleeping, Tegan and Sara, trashy tv shows, foreign snack-foods and being irresponsible with money. I also quite like origami, reading, hip-hop, dubstep, anything acoustic and Food Network TV. Well folks it's that time of year again! I hadn't been to a Twelfth (or indeed Orangefest) in many a year, but last year decided to go down to Royal avenue and check it out for an hour or two. I really wanted to see that big ship in the picture below, but alas i was too late or too early and missed it, i was pretty gutted! 2 things that I observed that day though - 1. there were a lot of foreign peeps on the streets, which is excellent because the twelfth being utilised as a tourist attraction and not just an excuse to get pished and cause trouble, is exactly the direction it should be headed. It is one big pomp and ceremony and exactly the sort of thing that visitors want to see (the same goes for the Paddys day parade and Belfast Pride) 2. At the city hall there was a lovely wee artisan market going on with local foods and crafts. they also had street performers, jugglers, stilt walkers and puppet shows. It was a gret are to spend an hour in, getting somehting to eat, watching the shows and learning about the food served on the titanic. And it's happening again this year. So you should head down and sample food as it was on the titanic, see the festival of fools guys out about, er... making fools of themselves and laugh at the shows. Whatever you do have fun and stay safe! Where: Belfast City Hall When: Fri 12th July 2013 - 9am - 4pm Damage: Free As part of the Twelfth of July celebrations this year, 8 artisan companies will be serving up the best of local produce in the grounds of Belfast City Hall. Sample freshly prepared food, watch Titanic menu demonstrations and pop into the fine food marquee. There will be a wide range of of produce on offer from locally farmed beef, salmon and a hog roast, to vegetarian delights and for those with a sweet tooth, homemade preserves and chocolate. In addition to this, discover what second and third class passengers ate onboard Titanic. Who wrote this here...Chris Caldwell

I Co-created this pastiebap.com empire and I do some of this writing. You'll see me out and about eating or drinking. Sometimes even both Belfast Pride Festival is a week long series events celebrating all things LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi and Transgender) don't worry though they're very accepting of 'straights' as well though! The main part of it is the parade on Saturday. Think the Twelfth or Paddys day parades but being hit by a big sparkly rainbow. It's great craic and very family friendly. Its tarts off at custom house square and snakes it's way round before going up Royal avenue and returning back to Custom house where there's a big party (free entry too). Basically if you're on Royal Av about 12:30 you can't miss it. there's a million things on over the week and especially on Saturday, but for us the pick of the week is the parade itself! Check out the website for all the info. Who is this guy?Chris Caldwell
