This will not be a long post, but it will be heartfelt. For the third year I’m (Chris) going to be participating in Movember. For the uninitiated Movember is an event that is held yearly in November where men try and cultivate facial hair in return for donations. The money then goes toward Testicular and Prostate cancer research. This is a very personal cause for myself and Laura (we write pastiebap.com) as we lost out Granada to this disease a few years ago. My wife also lost her father to this cancer a few years ago. So it’s kind of a big deal to us. I’m sure everyone has been effected or knows some-one that been effected by this horrible disease. So you can relate to what I’m talking about.
That’s us done with the serious bit and now onto the fun bit. My attempts to raise cash for this worthwhile cause is 2 fold.
1. Grow a Tache
I will (trying to) grow a Moustache. People will (hopefully) donate money because I’m doing this. So I look stupid and Cancer research get money. It’s a win/win really. If past years are anything to go bay, my ‘tache will be spectacularly awful. I’ll post photos up on the Facebook at regular intervals, for you to laugh at. But also to hopefully motivate you to donate money. I have MoSpace where you can donate. I also have a team called the PASTIEBAP TACHE BRIGADEERS. If you you’re taking part in Movembers and would like to join my team, then come on over! We’d be happy to have you.
We’re going to host a pub quiz with our new pals BADHAVEN in the Hudson bar at the end of the month. Thursday 29th November to be exact. We'll have sponsered rounds, moutche fun for all. we're still working ti all out. But it's gonna be a lot of fun. All money raised will be for Movember and fighting the evil cancers! if you click on this link it will take you to the event on facebook, where we'll be updating all the info as we work it out.
Thank you for reading and have a good Movember.
Who wrote this?
I am 30 years old. I love horror movies in a big way. I love NI in a big way. I
also love eating out, so soon I'm going to be in a big way. I resided in Dundee
for 5 years before returning to NI with my chosen lady friend. Upon returning I
realised that the Belfast I left wasn't the one I retuned home to. Now it's a
city over run with all my favourite things. The current fads I'm going through
are Beer making, Bread making, Beer drinking, Bread eating, SOA, the new Twiztid album, the Hudson Bar and my own monthly horror movie night at the previously mentioned bar.
